Poppenhausen is a centre for outdoor sports and provides the ideal starting point for most places of interest in the Rhön region. From Poppenhausen you can set off on wonderful hikes up the Rhön mountains which offer the most beautiful views, such as the Wasserkuppe, Milseburg and Kreuzberg. The Wasserkuppe, virtually on our doorstep, offers ideal conditions for all aviation sports and at an elevation of 950 metres it will delight the winter sports enthusiast, too.

The upland moors of the Rhön, the Baroque town of Fulda and the theatres and other cultural attractions of Meiningen are convenient and quick to reach by car.
